Exploiting
i like the concept of finding bugs in video games and then using them to your advantage
as some people know i am a sort of an exploiter i find bugs in video games and use them to my advantage
ive been playing video games for so long that i know so many bugs that are game engine specific or are semi universal that i can confidently say that "if it exists it can be taken advantage of"
one of my favorite exploits which seem to be semi universal are time date skips
that takes advantage of the fact that most games dont authenticate the time dates and it affects most p2w games that have offline earnings and its really easy to execute just close the game change your system time forward and reopen it and profit
another exploit i like that can be used to no clip walk on air etc is the alt window lock exploit
thats done by right clicking the window and then going through with your inputs the reason why this works is because the games that are frame dependent dont use delta time with their inputs and when you freeze the rendering delta time stops updating meaning that if a game is frame dependent or uses a tick system then this should work just fine executing inputs => updating positions while not rendering you or applying physics to the player
i know all these exploits are quite well known but thats why theyre universal as the non universal ones tend to be less known
some of the exploits dont actually have to be exploits they can just be design flaws example gta 5
franklins ability speed boost if you spam franklins car time slow down ability youl be at max speed in no time that is because when you start the ability it improves your grip and gives you a small speed boost
and another example this one is more debatable is the escapists (PC)
out of range storage opening exploit lets say you have an storage object next to you and then an storage object on the other side of an wall out of your reach well
if you start opening first storage object and then quickly you start opening the other out of reach one it will open the other one ignoring the fact its out of reach
all those exploits are quite simple though as those are replicatable the most complex and 'random' exploits are physics based exploits
e.g gta 4 swing , watch dogs 2 tow truck car fling exploit (i dont know how to call it)
basically all of these exploits rely on the pushing the physics engine to its limits => unexpected stuff happening aka getting flinged note worthy both of these exploits are vehicle related
funnily enough wd2s physics engine is so shit you can clip through cars if you crash into em at the right angle :skull:
clipping bugs are really common in watch dogs 2 i am suprised someone hasnt found a way to utilize them in a speedrun yet...
